On August 20, the press conference for the Thailand (Bangkok) Amusement & Attraction Parks Expo 2025 (TAAPE) and the Thailand (Bangkok) Billiards Expo 2025 (TBE), themed “Join Hands with ASEAN, Link the World with Intelligence,” was successfully held at the Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok.

The press conference was co-hosted by Compass Exhibition Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Grandeur International Exhibition Group Co.,Ltd., with strong support from the authoritative organizations including the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB). It brought together about 200 participants, including government officials from China, ASEAN, and neighboring countries, leaders of industry associations, corporate representatives, and media. The event served as a prelude to the upcoming TAAPE and TBE, which will be jointly staged at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Bangkok from October 15 to 17, providing an in-depth analysis of the upgrade opportunities and development pathways for the integrated culture, tourism, and sports industries in Southeast Asia.

Amid profound adjustments in the global economic landscape, regional economic integration has emerged as a key driver of global economic recovery. With its unique geographical advantages, vast consumer market, and continuously expanding economic vitality, Southeast Asia has become a strategic hub for global businesses seeking growth opportunities.

The year 2025 marks the 34th anniversary of China-ASEAN dialogue relations and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Thailand. Under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, political trust and economic cooperation between the two sides have continued to deepen, bilateral trade volumes have repeatedly reached record highs, and the demand for global expansion among enterprises surged.

As key sectors driving global consumption upgrades, cultural products, tourism equipment, amusement facilities, and the billiards industry are embracing historic opportunities for cross-border collaboration and brand internationalization. The TAAPE and TBE aim to establish an efficient communication platform for governments, industry associations, and enterprises worldwide—promoting policy coordination, infrastructure connectivity, smooth trade, financial integration, and people-to-people exchange. These efforts seek to strengthen the achievements of regional economic integration and enhance the region’s core position and influence within the global economic landscape.

At the event, guests from more than 10 countries, including China, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, and Singapore—engaged in initial discussions following registration, with participation from organizations such as the Japan SnookerBall Association, the Indonesian Family Recreation Association (ARKI), and the Zhongshan Game & Amusement Association (ZGAA).

Representatives from government bodies and industry associations—including the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the China Cultural & Entertainment Industry Association (CCEA), the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), the Malaysian Association of Theme Parks & Family Attractions (MATFA), the Lao Billiard-Snooker Federation, the Vietnam Billiards & Snooker Federation, the Wenzhou Teach Toy Industry Association, the Thai Toy and Children Product Trade Association, and the Billiard Sports Association of Thailand (BSAT)—took the stage to deliver speeches. They unanimously recognized the strategic significance of regional cooperation in the culture, tourism, and sports industries and expressed strong expectations and full support for the TAAPE and TBE exhibitions.

Mr. Wang Zhaoyun, Executive Director of China Council for International Investment Promotion, President of Guangdong Yacht Industry Association, Chairman of Guangdong Grandeur International Exhibition Group Co.,Ltd., emphasized in his speech that the two exhibitions will serve as forward-looking strategic hubs for global enterprises to expand into the Southeast Asian market, facilitating efficient alignment of industry resources.

During the roundtable seminar, participants engaged in an in-depth dialogue on the theme “The Future of Thailand’s Tourism and Entertainment Empowered by the Sports Business Economy.” Diverse perspectives sparked insightful exchanges, offering both visionary and practical recommendations for industry development.

The discussion focused on four key topics:

  1. Exploring how TAAPE exhibitors can leverage innovative experience design to drive tourism and regional economic growth through high-quality entertainment and attraction resources.
  2. Analyzing Thailand’s potential to host world-class events such as TBE, and examining how the sports industry can contribute to the growth of sports tourism—strengthening Thailand’s position as a regional hub for sports and leisure.
  3. Highlighting the synergy between government policy support and the innovative vitality of the private sector to build a sustainable ecosystem for the entertainment and sports industries.
  4. Assessing trends in the application of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies in amusement parks, as well as innovative strategies to promote billiards among younger generations.

As a pivotal milestone in the global promotion of TAAPE and TBE, this press conference successfully conveyed the core values of the exhibitions, significantly expanded their international influence, and injected strong momentum into the event preparations.

From October 15 to 17, the TAAPE and TBE will debut at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Bangkok, presenting a world-class industry event designed to serve as a “one-stop platform with global reach.” The exhibitions aim to help global enterprises overcome trade barriers, achieve simultaneous growth in brand value and market share, and contribute to building a closer regional community with a shared future through the power of industry collaboration.
